Marble Inlay Flooring Buddhism Project Overview
Avalokitesvara Dharmadhatu, also known as “Guanyin Dharma Realm,” is the world’s largest Buddhist complex dedicated to Guanyin.
This architectural masterpiece integrates religious culture, spiritual practice, art exhibitions, international exchange, and tourism services, making it one of the most comprehensive Buddhist cultural projects in the world.
As a key contributor to this grand project, Stone Master was entrusted with designing and producing the marble inlay flooring.
The objective was to create a mesmerizing ground pattern that harmonizes with the sacred ambiance, incorporating intricate Buddhist motifs with unparalleled craftsmanship.
Stone Master’s design showcases a series of traditional Buddhist symbols, meticulously crafted to enhance the spiritual essence of the site:
Each design was first hand-drawn by professional artists, then converted into precise CAD drawings for execution.
The 1:1 scale print of the entire artwork allowed artisans to ensure meticulous accuracy during the production process.
•Searching of rare marble material from market for more than 10 times.
•Strictly control the quality of materials, not good to change until satisfied
Souring of rare & luxury & precious stone from market for many times, in order to achieve perfect marble inlay effect.
Creating the world’s largest Buddhist-themed marble inlay presented immense challenges:
The high-pressure waterjet cutting process risked displacing tiny stone fragments, requiring multiple cutting attempts for a single piece.
This process was repeated more than ten times to achieve the ultimate effect.
This greatly increased the difficulty of production but ensured an impeccable final appearance.
Small marble inlay parts only 2-3mm.
The smaller the stone, the easier it is to be hit away by the high pressure of the waterjet machine, and sometimes for a small stone, no less than dozens of cutting.
All the marble inlay are handmade.
It takes a lot of time to find the accurate stone parts from a pile of stone.
Straight line is the traditional and normal division way of waterjet pattern medallion.
In order to achieve perfect effect of the whole marble inlay pattern and not to separate fish dragon body, we choose special-shaped division.
It greatly increase work difficulty.
The division line of marble inlay parts is highlighted in red. To make sure every body of fish and fish dragon is not separated.
The completion of this exceptional inlay project marks a milestone in Buddhist architectural artistry.
The flooring not only enhances the grandeur of Avalokitesvara Dharmadhatu but also sets a new standard for precision marble inlay worldwide.
The client highly praised Stone Master’s expertise, dedication, and craftsmanship in overcoming the project’s intricate challenges.
Stone Master is honored to have played a role in bringing this magnificent vision to life, reinforcing our commitment to excellence in high-end marble inlay design.
